Christopher J. Hale, Ph. D., P. Geo.
Advisor
Dr. Chris Hale (“Chris”) is a Canadian Geoscientist with more than 45 years in exploration.
He received his B.Sc. in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Erindale College, University of Toronto in 1974. He then worked for a short period of time but quickly returned to academic life where he then completed a Masters of Arts Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and then a Doctorate degree at the University of Toronto. Dr. Hale’s research interests included applications of rock and paleo-magnetism to structural problems in Precambrian terrains including the determination of structural controls on gold mineralization in the Uchi and Abitibi subprovinces.
From 1984 to 1995 he held faculty positions at McMaster University and the University of Toronto where his teaching responsibilities included applied geophysics and bridging the gap between geology and geophysics.
He has since held positions with various exploration companies and has worked throughout North and South America as well as other continents.
In 2008, Chris joined with John Gilliatt to form Intelligent Exploration (“IE”), private consulting firm based in Ontario. John has over 30 years of mineral exploration experience. He holds a B. Sc. (1986) from the University of Alberta and is registered as a P. Geoph. (Alberta). He was also a Senior Geophysicist at JVX from 1996 to 2007, managing the daily operations for more than a decade in addition to processing and modeling magnetic, IP and EM data. Both partners hold a P. Geo. registration in Ontario and are members of the Canadian Exploration Geophysical Society (KEGS). Chris is also registered as P. Geo. In Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL).
IE provides consulting services under a Certificate of Authorization from the APO (Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario). IE promotes geophysical exploration in which techniques are individually tailored to each type of target. Their particular areas of expertise include magnetic surveys and geologically constrained interpretation of magnetic data, DC Resistivity and IP applications in gold and base metals exploration. IE also provides survey selection and implementation based on measured physical properties of target mineralization. IE is equipped with a portable laboratory for detailed measurements of physical properties in the field.
Chris will be utilizing his expertise and that if IE to provide advisory services to CMC Metals Ltd. on exploration of their properties.
